About Lua

Lua is incredibly special for a number of reasons I will try to explain. Lua is out of Skyward's very first litter ever! Lua and her litter mates were the culmination of 5 years of planning, showing, health testing, and dreaming. Lua also comes from an incredible pedigree. Her dam was imported from Finland, and her sire, an American-bred dog, is the first and only Skye terrier to Win Best in Show at the Montgomery Terrier Show. Archer, her sire, has also won best in show at the World Dog Show and went Group 1 at Westminster 2025 ALL OWNER-HANDLED!!

Lua is a Co-Own that went off to live with Sondra Langley for the first few years of her life. She finished her Championship easily with majors under breed judges and a Best of Breed Win over the #1 Skye Terrier 2024. After some health complications, Lua came back to us to retire for breeding. However, we didn't think her story should end there. We recently showed Lua at the Desert Empire Terrier Specialty in January 2025. She took best of breed and made the cut in a deep terrier group! We are still hoping to get Lua to westminster one day. Watch for this girl in the ring, her time is coming!

Lua is a super friendly breed ambasador. She is low energy and low drive, which makes her the best companion. She sleeps in our beds upside down every night. When she isn't sleeping, Lua is usually begging for attention. Lua is reserved with strangers, but will still go say hello to her "fans"on walks. Much like her mom Lua enjoys the occasional hike or beach walk, but is happy to be relaxing on the couch or underfoot.
